  • 3:: Number of known Iranian research reactor sites 1
  • 2:: Number of known Iranian uranium enrichment plants: Qom and Natanz 2
  • 10 to 15:: Possible number of secret Iranian nuclear development sites, including recently revealed Qom site. 3
  • 1,400:: Number of uranium mines claimed by Iranian Government4
  • 36,000+: Proven Iranian Uranium Reserves available for mining, in tons 5
  • Less than 1%: Percentage of naturally occurring uranium composed of the fissile uranium isotope U-235 6
  • 176:: Approximate number of kilograms of natural Uranium needed to produce 1 kg of highly enriched uranium. 7
  • 30:: Annual highly enriched uranium production capacity, in grams, of a typical gas centrifuge. 8
  • 1,000 – 3,500:: Number of centrifuges required to produce the 20-25 kg of highly enriched uranium needed for one implosion weapon per year. 9
  • 8,000:: Estimated number of gas centrifuges in Iran. It’s estimated that 4,600 are in use 10
  • 50,000:: Number of gas centrifuges planned for the Natanz enrichment plant. 11
  • 60,000: Estimated size in square meters of two main underground enrichment halls at Natanz site 12
  • 3,000: Estimated centrifuge capacity of recently disclosed Qom plant 13
  • 20,000:Number of barrels of gasoline to be exported daily by Venezuela to Iran under an agreement announced 7-Sept-2009. Despite being the fifth-largest oil exporter in the world, Iran has the refinement capacity to meet only about 60 per cent of its needs. 14
